My Basketball Teaching & Coaching Philosophy:

1. What do I want my athletes to learn in my program?
Teamwork. Respect not only for authority, but for everybody they socialize with. Dealing with failure and good citizenship. Be good athletes and take care their body. Try their best to win, but displaying good sportsmanship.

2. What role do the parents play in the development of my athletes?
Parents support their kids with a positive manner and respect the parents, the kids and the coaches of the opponent's team and the officials as well. They stay on the stands and assist in practices only when they asked to.

3. Describe good sportsmanship and what steps I take to communicate, model and enforce good sportsmanship.
Sportsmanship is honoring the game and everyone involved with it. Children or youth who become involved in sports and learn trustworthiness, honesty and respect for authority or opponents through them will learn to treat family, colleagues or neighbors in the same

manner. I will help my players understand and adapt good sportsmanship, through my example, education and motivation.

4. What behaviors or actions will not be tolerated on my teams or in my programs?
Unsportsmanlike, cheat, unethical, disrespect, disregard academic education.

5. How will I demonstrate and foster accountability and teamwork among my athletes?
By example. I will demonstrate accountability and teamwork in every given situation. A symbol of great leadership in coaching is not to pass blame on the players. I always take the blame for a loss. Athletes, especially those of a young age, are apt to mold their actions to their environment.

6. How will I ensure the safety and well being of my athletes?
Inspect and provide safe facilities, for practices and games. I'll always ensure that I do not engage in unacceptable activities with my players. I do not drink alcohol or use drugs around them. I do not engage in inappropriate physical contact. I do not encourage them to harm themselves in order to gain a physical edge, such as the use of performance-enhancing drugs. If a player is injured, I make sure he gets the proper rest and care that he needs.

7. I will help develop positive character traits by:
Demonstrating honesty and integrity as a coach. I have a great chance to teach these youths how to achieve success through hard work and discipline. If they do not know that cheating or dishonesty is intolerable, they will miss the chance to learn how they can turn a good work ethic into a great victory.

My coaching philosophy:
My philosophy is all about the love of the game and teaching these kids how the lessons from sports can be applied to their lives. Win or lose, I expect their best effort in each practice and in each game. I want them to learn from their mistakes, take responsibility for their actions and take pride in their part in the success of the team.
I deeply believe that athletes, kids, people are souls hosted in bodies and we should approach them accordingly. A Coach should try to recreate the environment of a good old times neighborhood, where older and younger kids playing all together, discovering the abilities of their body and brain and socializing, a sense that can be deconstructed to many endowments.... show moreless
