CLUB'S HISTORY Male basketball in Rogaška Slatina has its roots in the sixties. The main initiator of basketball playing was Ferdo Pak. The club then started to swing between its successes and its organisation. The club achieved its greatest successes in the mid nineties. The players played in the 1st Slovenian League and the club managed to get placed in the Radivoj Korač cup. Then, the club started decelerating and faced a financial crisis. The Municipality of Rogaška Slatina helped the club in 1997, so that the male basketball didn't die down completely. In that season, only the most perspective young players performed. Discussions about the establishment of the new basketball club took places in 1997 as well. The discussions were efficient and in 1998 new club was born. The meeting on the establishment of the club took place on the 20th February 1998 and Basketball Club Rogaška 98 was found. The first president of the club was Damir Franić. In the seasons of 1998/1999 the team KK Rogaška 98 performed in the 3rd Slovenian League and the club managed to get promoted to the 2nd Slovenian League in the same season. The club played in the 2nd Slovenian League and after two seasons, the club have fallen back to the 3rd Slovenian League again. Edvard Lesnik became the president of the club in 2000 and Branko Kidrič, who was the captain of the team as well, and is now the mayor of the Municipality of Rogaška Slatina, started participating in the club more actively. During the years 2002 through 2007, Srečko Kidrič was the president. The club performed in the 3rd Slovenian League between the seasons of 2001/2002 and 2005/2006 and then the great ascent began. In the season of 2005/2006 the club performed very well in the 3rd Slovenian League and ascended to the 2nd Division. The club changed its name to KK Rogaška in the meantime. As early as the 1st season of playing in the 2nd Division, the club promoted to the 1st B Slovenian League, in which the club placed eight in the season of 2007/2008. Kristijan Novak became the president in 2007. Rogaška placed third after the 2008/2009 regular season and got in to the qualifications to get into the, so called, UPC league (1st Division), in which Rogaška wasn't succesful. The story repeated itself again in the season of 2009/2010. The season of 2010/2011 was the turning point for basketball playing in Rogaška Slatina. The team successfully got into the highest rank of male basketball in Slovenia and played in the Telemach League in the season of 2011/2012. The season of 2014/2015 was a new milestone in the club history, the club namely played in the finals of the Play-Off under the leadership of Damjan Novaković. This success repeated itself in the season of 2016/2017 as well.
